How To Add A Signature To A Word Document

We might not notice it but almost everything we do is rooted in a contract. In certain cases, we have even affixed our signatures on a piece of paper or digitally to signify our consent, such as our employment contracts or apartment leases. The act of signing itself has evolved through the years, migrating from strictly ink on paper to a move convenient digital and electronic signatures.

Businesses are now afforded the opportunity to do everything remotely, even executing contracts. Gone are the days of requiring all parties to be present in one place to sign a printed copy of the document with a pen, scanning numerous pages, and faxing copies to multiple addressees. It is no surprise then that companies are more inclined to go down this route, saving time and money spent on transportation, documentation, and other related costs.

While traditional or handwritten signatures are still valuable and remain a valid option for those who prefer them, the ability to digitally or electronically sign documents has clearly transformed the way both individuals and companies conduct their business.

In this article, we’ll teach how you can easily sign Word Documents and walk you through the step-by-step process. We also have another article on how you can add signatures to a Google Doc that you can check out as well.

What is Microsoft Word?

Developed by Microsoft, Word or Microsoft Word is an incredibly popular world processor used to make letters, proposals, reports, and more.

It includes a variety of advanced features that allows its users to customise, format, and edit files any way they want.

Let’s go through a few other reasons why Microsoft Word has become a popular tool for dealing with and signing documents.

Benefits of Signing in Microsoft Word

  • Close deals and contracts remotely.
  • Store documents in electronic form.
  • Work anywhere on any device.
  • Collaborate online.
  • Secure documents.
